How much does a website cost?

Prices are dependant on the complexity of the website, the amount of data entry required to fill it with content plus many other elements. Every website is different.

Are there any on going costs?

Yes, a website must be hosted on a website server if it is to remain live. Additionally you can have any number domain names or addresses to access your site from.

Hosting packages are priced on a sliding scale based on the amount of traffic the website receives. Hunter Website Services offer hosting plans from $9.95 a month, more information is available on the hosting page.

Domain names are renewed on a yearly basis. Hunter Website Services provides a wide selection of Australian and international domain names which can be seen on the domains page.

Can I update the website myself?

This is a very common request and the answer is yes. Although you must be prepared to learn how to use the software provided. This requires a general understanding of how to use a computer and browse the Internet.

Will I be locked with Hunter Website Services?

You will not be locked to Hunter Website Services. You will own the design created for you and the software driving your website will be open source. Please read the technical jargon page for more information on the definition of open source.

Occasionally a website cannot be created using open source software (because no open source solution exists) and a commercial product is used. You will be provided with all the necessary information to understand the licence of the software used, its limitations and ongoing costs.

What payment methods do you accept?

Accepted payment methods include bank cheque, Internet bank transfer and PayPal. It is possible to use a credit card using a PayPal gateway at your request. The preferred method of payment is Internet bank transfer, for more information please check out the payment options page.
